Lions serve up steak

Local residents enjoyed homemade steak dinners and time visiting with friends and neighbors as Monett Lions hosted their annual Steak Dinner at Scott Tech. Each spring, Lions provide their much-anticipated fare as a fundraiser for a local organization or a worthwhile cause. The Monett Library has been tapped as recipient of this year’s Steak Dinner funds. Monett Lions have a history of supporting Library needs, and when it was time for new facilities to serve the Monett community, local Lions contributed to the undertaking. The profit from this year’s Steak Dinner project is an additional financial gift from Lions who are devoted to their motto, “We Serve.” With the capable and dedicated leadership of Steak Dinner Committee Members Karen Hamer, Gary Updike, Suzan Updike, Mark Henderson and Linda Myer, more than 20 Lions served up 200 steak dinners to an appreciative group of diners.
