Police officers rescue subject from icy waters Thursday night Monett Police Officers Trent Gold and Randy Lomeli are being credited for saving the life of a Mt. Vernon resident who fled from a welfare check at Monett’s South Park Thursday night, driving his vehicle into the city park pond.

Paula Sue Thomson

Paula Sue Thomson, age 80, of Springdale, Ark., formerly of Marionville, passed away at 7:32 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024, at Edgewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springdale. She was born April 20, 1943, in Aurora, the daughter of Paul Vincent and June Eva (Elsey) Norris.
