Ready to get outdoors

The March Calendar girl, Katherine Johnson, decided to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the luck of the shamrock, a rainbow and a leprachaun around her at Kay’s Floral Affair and Gardens in Monett. Katherine is the daughter of Sarah and Jeff Meredith. She is a senior at Monett High School and has been on the varsity cheer squad for three years. Katherine has been active on the Monett FFA Chapter serving as secretary this year. She moved to Monett from Joplin in 2015 and fell in love with agriculture, farming and being in the outdoors. She is a server at Angus Branch Steakhouse and enjoys going to church at Monett Community Church and attending small group on Wednesday’s with Brittie Beesley. In her free time you can find her shopping, on the farm and on warm days she will be visiting the local plant shops and hanging out in her hammock. After graduation she plans on attending Crowder College in Neosho getting a degree in ag business. She also wants to go into farmer’s insurance. Following college she also wants to grow her love for agriculture and own a farm of her own. The decorations and setting were provided by Kay’s Floral Affair and Gardens located at 712 E. Cleveland in Monett. Lisa Craft/monettcommunity@gmail.com.

Over the course of my career, I’ve been dispatched to dozens of intense emergency situations, ranging from car crashes, to massive, fast-moving wildfires and even tense police standoffs.
