Top seeds advance to district titles

The Purdy and Verona basketball teams entered Wednesday night knowing the tall tasks in front of them in the Class 2, District 12 tournament semifinals and were hoping the Cinderella ride would last one more game. However, midnight struck for both teams as Verona fell 77-50 to stateranked and top seeded Marionville and Purdy came up just short falling 61-59, to second seeded College Heights.
