MMS students break relay records

Two Monett Middle School students broke school records during the Pierce City Jr. High Relays on Monday, April 15. Seventh-grader Theo Smith broke two Monett Middle School Seventh Grade boys records. He first broke the hurdles record of 16.68 set in 2004 by running a time of 16.44, and then broke the 400 meter record of 57.75 that was set in 1992 with a time of 57.45. Meanwhile, Eighth-grader Kamyrn Carr broke the girls hurdles record of 18.42 set in 2019 by Jenna Herald by running a time of 17.7.

Goodson swims in YMCA Nationals

Last November, Ryan Goodson, an 18-year-old senior at Monett High School, made local history when he became the first male high school swimmer from Monett to medal at state, and only the second swimmer from Monett to do so. On Friday, April 5, Ryan made history again by competing at the YMCA Nationalsswimmingcompetition in Greensboro, North Carolina.
