Couple celebrates 50th anniversary

James and Joyce Wheeler Lawrence will celebrate their 50th anniversary on May 27. The couple were married May 27, 1972, at First United Methodist Church in Monett with Rev. Jim Fulbright officiating. Their children, Scott Lawrence and Aaron Lawrence (Jessica), along with their grandchildren, Addison Lawrence, Whitney Lawrence, Lakyn Lawrence, Cullen Lawrence, Dahlia Fabiani, Kyla Fabiani, and Rayanna Fabiani, will host a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, at Liberty United Methodist Church, 21034 Lawrence 1090, Monett. The omission of gifts is requested.

Mildred “Louise” Bellm

Mildred “Louise” (Craton) Bellm, age 86, of Aurora, Mo., passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Verona, Mo., with family at her side. Louise was born in Wentworth, Mo., on Saturday, November 23, 1935, daughter of James and Mildred (Gorman) Craton Cramer. Louise married Lawrence Bellm on June 1, 1952. They were married for 25 years. Of this union, seven children were born. Louise was a retired secretary for UFCW Local 2 in Joplin, Mo., (now Kansas City, Mo.)

MONETT GOLF What: Tied for sixth as a team at state Individual: Jaxon Bailey ties for sixth place, receives All-State More: Entire team to return next season The Monett boys golf team turned in a historic finish at the Sedalia Country Club on May 16-17, playing to a tie for sixth place in the first time the team has competed at Boys Golf State. Freshman Jaxon Bailey led the Cubs yet again this season, posting a two-day score of 147 (72, 75) to tie for sixth place individually.
