Monett officer retires after 27 years of service

Officer David Haskins safely reached the end of his watch in law enforcement on Thursday, Feb. 29, when he retired after 27 years of service in the Monett Police Department. Haskins was known for always staying cool under pressure, earning him the moniker “Iceman” from his fellow officers. He graduated from the police academy in 1997 and worked for a summer in Granby as a reserve officer before coming to the Monett PD in October of 1997. During his tenure, he served as a patrolman, detective and sergeant of investigations; he was known for taking great pride in thoroughly investigating his cases. Contributed photo
