Purdy builds chemistry at Hoopfest

The Purdy boys basketball team got a taste of summer action last week, laying five shortened games over two days at the annual Purdy Hoopfest. Heath Carmichael, Purdy boys basketball coach, said the event was an opportunity for the team to recalibrate its chemistry after losing six seniors from last season.

Monett to keep bus routes as is

School bus routes in the Monett R-1 School District will continue the same as usual, the Monett Board of Education decided during their meeting on Thursday, May 18. The board discussed the possibility of altering bussing service, but ultimately decided against doing so due to concerns that attendance might go down among students whose parents work extralong hours.

Verona approves expanded sewer use

Kemin requests amendment to permit due to expansion Verona city leaders have voted unanimously to approve an increase in the amount of waste Kemin is permitted to send to the city sewer system as a result of its recent expansion. Historically, Kemin’s permit from the city allowed it to send up to 30,000 gallons of waste water to the city sewer plant.
