An Aurora man was seriously injured in a New Year’s Day singlevehicle crash east of Monett. A Missouri State Highway Patrol report indicated that the incident occurred at 10:18 a.m.

Details about the new Verona wastewater treatment plant emerged at the December meeting of the Verona City Council, as engineers Eric DeGruson and Jason Coleman from the Joplin-based firm Allgeier, Martin and Associates discussed plans for the $5 million facility. The grant, awarded in December from the Missouri allocation from the federal American Rescue Plan, will be matched by $120,000 in ARPA funds secured earlier by the city.
