LawCo tax board sets 2022 levy

Anticipated revenues will total $490,000 Members of the Lawrence County Board for the Developmentally Disabled (LCDD) set the 2022 tax levy the same as last year’s, at 0.0860, which will generate approximately $490,000 in revenue. Those numbers are based on $417,172,633 in assessed valuations on real estate and $156,452,380 in personal property valuations, for a total of $573,625,013 for the current tax year.

A sight to see

Owners of several vintage Fords driving in a caravan made a pit stop at Casey’s General Store in Monett on Saturday morning before heading out to Jolly Mill for Jolly Mill History Day. The vintage vehicles drew the attention of several passersby, who stopped to talk, photograph and admire the shiny old autos as their drivers paused on their journey.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Elwell will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monett. Chaplain Gregg Mercer will be officiating. Nathan Enos Gregg, Jr., age 59, of Monett, passed from this life on Friday morning, September 23, 2022 while at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield. Nathan was born on December 3, 1962 in Springfield, son of the late Nathan Enos Gregg, Sr. and Naomi (Kelley) Gregg. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Buchanan Funeral Home with Reverend Clif Crockett officiating. Friends are invited to stay and visit following the services.
