Don Sylvester Carpenter, 87, of Miller, died Tuesday, June 21, at his home. A private family graveside will be held at a later date at the Gray’s Point Cemetery.
Daniel Lewis Cameron, 74, of Maud, Texas, formerly of Miller, died Thursday, June 23. A graveside service was held Thursday, June 30 at the Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt.
Betty Shields, 90, of Purdy, Mo., passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022, while at the Roaring River Health and Rehab Center in Cassville, Mo. Betty was born on October 10, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Matt and Inez (Pickenpaugh) Darby.

Signups are underway for the 2022 Monett Youth Football and Cheer Program, and a camp at Burl Fowler Stadium is scheduled for the middle of the month. Stephanie Mahurin, board president of the Program, said the camp dates are July 18-22 at Burl Fowler Stadium.
Work is underway on the Verona Community Center. Since its official groundbreaking in November, the property adjacent to City Hall has been graded, a foundation has been laid and now walls and a roof are up. Once complete, the community center will be a hub of activity for residents, providing after-school programs and opportunities for students and other community members. The Health Department divides food service code violations into two categories; Priority and Core items. Priority items are more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination, or illness and/or injury.
The June 13 American Red ross blood drive was dedicated to Sarah Brubacker, 24, of Wentworth. “I dedicated the drive to Sarah, a loyal blood donor, who died from cancer complications,” said Donna Beckett, Monett chairman.
