The Pierce City Senior Center will be closed from Tuesday, June 28 through Monday, July 11 due to COVID-19 concerns. The Senior Center is scheduled to re-open Tuesday, July 12.
DEAR ABBY: I have been married for two decades to a man who is incapable of connecting with anyone. It didn’t become apparent until after we were married. He is very good at surface relationships but cannot go deeper than that. Because of this, he abused, isolated and ignored me. Two people have been found dead in a home on West Nellie Street in Monett. On Thursday, at approximately 8:04 p.m., officers with the Monett Police Department responded to the 100 block of West Nellie in reference to two deceased subjects.

For only the seventh time in the 96-year history of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), a new executive director has taken charge. Jennifer Rukstad was named the Association’s seventh executive director earlier this year, beginning duties in late June following the retirement of Kerwin Urhahn from the same post.
