Fireworks, family and fun

While the Fourth of July brings thoughts of picnics, patriots and play, Sadie Camp, this month’s star-spangled Calendar Girl, is looking forward to watching the night sky light up with brilliant display of pyrotechnics from the deck of her family’s boat as they join the flotilla gathering on the lake at Shell Knob’s Fire and Thunder celebration this year. Sadie, a senior at Monett High School, is the daughter of Dennis and Leah Camp, and sister to Alice and Ellis (E.J.) Camp. She is also the proud pet owner of one cat, Brandy, and a dog, Sarge. Her hobbies include reading, boating, hanging out with friends and family, listening to music, and volunteering at Camp Re-NEW-All in Cassville. She is active in cross country, basketball, track and field and National Honor Society. Sadie plans to attend college following graduation and focus on a major in education. “I love going to Shell Knob to watch the fireworks show,” she said. “It is a really special time for our family because we have been doing it for so long.” Melonie Roberts/mroberts@cherryroad.com
