Fire crews performing a station check on the PierceCityFireProtection District’s (PCFPD) station at 10040 Wallaby Road found the station broken into and about $3,000 worth of tools and equipment missing on Friday, Feb. 2.

Jack Henry and Associates, based in Monett, will see several management changes in July. In addition to David Foss, board chairman and chief executive officer stepping down from his positions on June 30, Stacey Zengel will retire from his post as senior vice president and president of Jack Henry Bank Solutions.

The Pierce City Betterment Committee (PCBC) is taking steps to complete the World War One Memorial on the bridge which spans Clear Creek, just west of Pierce City’s South Park. On January 6, the PCBC took their first step towards completing the memorial when members Amos Mize and Greg Mettlach placed the military insignias for the United States Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines on the bridge’s piers.

Pretty soon, Lonna Norman will be able to start taking things a bit easier. Norman, the board secretary for the Monett R-1 Board of Education, will retire from the district after 26 years of service.
