Monett City Commissioners approved nearly $7 million in monthly expenditures Tuesday, with $3,171,399 of that going toward the airport expansion project, and another $1,078,104 to Missouri Public Utility Alliance for electrical power. The remainder included $282,100 to Vision Metering for 2,500 electric meters; $58,330 for Utility Services well inspections for Lowe’s towerandwell#12;$31,500for Algier Martin and Associated for oxidation ditch renovations; and $25,765 for repair of two airport fuel trucks by Bassco Services.

Phase 1 is complete. That means the dirtwork, construction of a new 100 by 6,000-foot runway, lighting and other improvements at the Monett Regional Airport have been completed and are now open for business.
