Sales tax receipts in October for bi-county cities and county governments reversed a number of drops in September for a general gain. Revenue from local retail sales have fallen into an up-one-month, down-the-next pattern for the last four months, making trends much harder to see on a monthly basis.

The Pierce City Parent Teacher Organization is holding a Winter Clothing and Personal Hygiene Items Drive throughout the month of November. When winter weather hits the Midwest, ice storms, downed power lines and biting cold blasts of arctic air can make living and learning a task of gargantuan proportion.

The Monett Area Community Foundation (MACF) is hosting an event to showcase local non-profit organizations to remind area residents of their impact on the Monett and surrounding communities. “The MACF is hosting a non-profit fair to allow non-profits in the area the ability to get their name out and showcase how they impact the community,” said Emily Mettlach, foundation coordinator.

The Sunderland Foundation is a family-foundation rooted in Kansas City with a history of supporting capital building projects.
