The Pierce City Senior Center will be serving lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone is welcome and lunch is $5 for those ages 55 and older, and $6 for those under 55. Carry-out meals will be available to those who contact the center at 417-476-5006 before 10:30 a.m. Carry-out meals may be picked up between 11:30 a.m. and noon. Also, Nell’s Nails will be serving seniors for a nominal fee at 9 a.m. the first Thursday of each month.

Frances Marie Metheny Heeter, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 27, 2022, in Jefferson City. Born March 13, 1927, in Pierce City, to Sylvia and Alpha Metheny, she was forever known to her family and friends only as Fanny.

Back in the Good Old Days, Nov. 6-12

On Nov. 7, 1962, the first in a series of six lessons in a simplified sewing course was held at the American Legion Home for Monett area women, conducted by Wilma Jean Carr, Barry County extension home economist.
