David Eugene Talbert, 57, of Millington, Tenn., (formerly of Pierce City) died Monday, July 18. Visitation is being held on Saturday, July 23, from 1-2:00 p.m.
Michael Lewis Miller, 64, of Aurora, died Sunday, July 17, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. A visitation will be held from 1:30-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be held at a later date at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
James “Jim” Edward Kelly, 95, of Branson, died Thursday, July14. Funeral services will be held at Branson Christian Church in Branson on Monday, July 25, at 11a.m.

Monett football Coach Ethan Lewis has a special name for his big fellas in the trenches — his hogs. The Cubs’ lineman roster is 10-strong, with only one player expected to play both ways this season, an exciting prospect for Lewis.
The Pierce City Senior Center will be serving lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone is welcome and lunch is $5 for those ages 55 and older, and $6 for those under 55. Carry-out meals will be available to those who contact the center at 417-476-5006 before 10:30 a.m. Also, Nell’s Nails will be serving seniors for a nominal fee at 9 a.m. the first Thursday of each month.
