Just in time for Friday’s First on Front community event, HHR Contractors were out in force on Broadway Friday morning, placing hanging flower baskets on the downtown light posts. Carrasquillo to Columbia

There’s not much Verona graduate Jaiden Carrasquillo did not accomplish this year. The valedictorian of his class, Carrasquillo has amassed $750,000 in scholarships toward his premed goals, and after much deliberation, has signed to play basketball at Columbia College in Columbia.

Barbara Faye Poage, 83, of Ozark, died Tuesday, May 31, at her home in Ozark. Services will be at Pierce City First Baptist Church in Pierce City, on Saturday, June 4, at 10 a.m., under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Pierce City.
