Loaves and Fishes meal deliveries drop 20 percent

A decrease in the number of meals delivered marked the 2017 service year for Loaves and Fishes, the hot meal delivery program to Monett and surrounding communities. The sum of 5,609 delivered meals represented a drop of 20 percent from 2017, and down 24 percent from 2016. The operation became more expensive as well. Cost per meal rose from $6.34 per meal in the previous year to $7.68 per meal in 2017. Charges to clients remained even at $3.50 per meal...
