The annual Stones Prairie Picnic, hosted by St. John's Lutheran Church at Stones Prairie, two and a half miles northwest of Purdy, has been scheduled for Friday, July 20. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. The picnic, held on the church grounds, will feature live entertainment, freshly cooked hamburgers and homemade desserts. Preparations for the Monett celebration of the nation's birthday are nearing completion. The Freedom and Fireworks Committee have announced vendor registration and a partial list of the entertainment.
