New Monett flood control plan is unveiled (07/08/11)
A new bypass channel, removal of a bridge on Front Street and adjustment on railroad bridges could produce the first serious flooding relief for downtown Monett. IDA moves forward with Y bond sale (07/08/11)
A meeting of the full board for the Monett Industrial Development Authority (IDA) will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 to act onthe issuance of bonds to help fund the Monett Area YMCA's construction project. A public hearing on the proposal to issue $8 million in revenue bonds to the YMCA generated no public comment on Wednesday. The 2011 Fire Explorers Weekend will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 29 and continuing through noon on Sunday, July 31. Explorers and their adult leaders will be provided cots at the Monett High School gymnasium for the weekend experience, which will include such activities as an emergency driver's course, using golf carts, the self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) obstacle trailer, a simulated chlorine haz-mat drill, rope rappelling, swimming and a Fire Explorer competition...
