MHS Lady Cubs advance to district finals (02/25/11)
The Monett Lady Cubs are on the verge of ending a 16-year title drought. The Lady Cubs advanced to the Missouri Class 4, District 12 title game with a 61-43 win over the Reeds Spring Lady Wolves Thursday night. "I was concerned that we might be a little rusty for this game," said Monett Head Coach Derrek Uhl. Fred C. Roetto, age 91, of Monett, MO, passed from this life on Thursday morning, February 24, 2011, while at Cox Monett Hospital following a short illness. Fred was born on June 2, 1919 in Monett, the son of the late Frank Roetto and Catherine (Witt) Roetto. He had attended St. Mary's School in Walnut Grove and had lived in this area his whole life.
