Challenge grant benefits local CUB Fund (01/26/11)

Acting on a tip of possible drug activity, officers with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department went to the home of a Miller man, where officers discovered a marijuana-growing operation. Officers responded at about 5 p.m. on Monday evening to a call at the home of Jason Krempges, located on Highway DD, one-and-a-half miles east of Miller. ...
Firemen see fewer runs, more damage (01/26/11)
Monett city firefighters saw a decline in runs during 2010 from the previous year but a spike in damage, thanks largely to the McDonald's fire on Jan. 9, 2010. Fire Chief Tom Jones said starting 2010 with the McDonald's fire that caused an estimated $3 million in damage put the department in a difficult spot for the year, just as the fire at A-1 Rental had done in 2009...
