Turning tragedy into a dream for area kids (09/02/10)

Kansas man killed in crash near Eagle Rock (09/02/10)
A Kansas man was killed in a two-vehicle crash four miles west of Eagle Rock yesterday. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Aaron Walker, 23, of Wichita, Kan., was southbound in Route 4 at 6:06 p.m. when his 1999 Mazda crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2000 Mercedes driven by Cara Proehl, 42, of Shell Knob. Teacher of the Month program returns (09/02/10)
EFCO, a Pella Corporation, is sponsoring a Teacher of the Month program in partnership with The Monett Times. The program was created to recognize outstanding local teachers and reward them. Each month, the winning teacher will receive a recognition plaque and a check from EFCO in the amount of $250 to be used for classroom supplies.
