Women lay foundatin for Habitat home (05/05/10)
Five minutes before the start of groundbreaking ceremonies for the Monett-Purdy Habitat for Humanity's fifth house, a group of women stood shoulder to shoulder and hoisted up the fourth wall of the new Habitat home. Juanita J. Haworth, age 87, of Monett, died at 10:02 a.m on Sunday, May 2, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following a short illness. Juanita was born on Feb. 16, 1923 in Monett, the daughter of Ross and Lela (Campbell) Walton. She was a lifelong resident of the area and attended area schools. In February of 1964 she married Floy Haworth in Newton County. He preceded her in death in 2004. Juanita was a homemaker.
