First day of spring brings winter snow storm (03/22/10)
Monett dipped back into winter over the weekend as a major storm moved across southwest Missouri. Snow and ice caused numerous traffic accidents, broke trees and caused power outages on Saturday and Sunday. Treacherous roads keep Highway Patrol busy (03/22/10)
Ice-covered roadways led to a series of accidents in the bi-county area over the weekend. A one-vehicle crash on Highway 97 one mile south of Pierce City left six people with minor injuries. The Purdy Recycling Program, operated by the Spanish Club at Purdy High School, has been awarded a major grant from Sea World/Busch Gardens in Tampa, Fla.
