Area firemen lead search for missing man (03/08/10)

Intense ground searches were underway Saturday and Sunday in the Smackout access area, south of Highway 60 at Vixen Road. Tornado drill postponed until March 9 (03/08/10)
The statewide tornado drill scheduled for Tuesday, March 9 has been postponed to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 11, according to David Compton, director of emergency management for Barry County. According to Compton, the date for the drill was changed due to the possibility of severe weather on Tuesday. Refinancing bonds saves Lawrence County money (03/08/10)
Refinancing of bonds sold for the construction of the Lawrence County Justice Center will save nearly $180,000. Lawrence County commissioners voted on March 3 to authorize the sale of $4,945,000 in lease refunding certificates. The Verona Lady Wildcats rolled to a 58-47 win over Walnut Grove to claim the Class 1 District 6 girls basketball championship at Aurora on Friday night.
