Ambulance district approves spending plan (01/07/10)
The Barry-Lawrence Ambulance District Board of Directors made preparations for 2010 by passing a budget and endorsing the Enhanced Enterprise Zone plan for Barry County at its December meeting. Anticipating economic pressures to continue in 2010, board members approved a reduction in spending by $40,000 for the coming year, anticipating few major capital improvements. Downtown is the place to be this Friday night (01/07/10)
This Friday will mark the third evening of special activities in downtown Monett as more than a dozen merchants will throw their doors open for an extended evening. Broadway Nights returns with after-Christmas sales and live entertainment. Sales offered by participating businesses will be the main focus of the night, said Jenny Schulz, one of the organizers. Freistatt board plans for 2010 (01/07/10)
Freistatt Board of Trustees members completed their financial plan for the coming year at the December board meeting. Revenue for 2009 had finished at nearly $1,300 under projections, due to less property tax and revenue from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Mighty Mite Football Program Receives $6,000 Grant (01/07/10)
The Monett Area Community Foundation awarded a $6,000 grant to the local Monett Mighty Mites organization. The program has been in existence since the early 1960s, and was started with the help of former banker and local civic leader Jack Fox.
