Another downtown building is getting a facelift (06/26/09)
One of downtown Monett's downtown landmarks has a new owner with plans to open a coffee shop and art gallery on Broadway. Shaun Bennett, of Topeka, Kan., brother of Monett Community Church Pastor Chad Bennett, has purchased the Mansfield's building in the 300 block of East Broadway. Freistatt board continues work on highway crosswalk (06/26/09)
Plans for a crosswalk and a proposed sidewalk by the Freistatt Post Office will move forward but somewhat differently, according to the report made at the Freistatt Village Board's June meeting. Trustee Brian Paynter reported he and engineer Kevin Sprenkle spent around three hours studying the plan for the proposed crosswalk over Highway H and the new sidewalk to run from the crosswalk west to the senior citizen apartments. ...

Monett Legion Team Falls Twice To Aurora (06/26/09)
Still hampered by injuries, the Monett American Legion baseball teams dropped a pair of game to Aurora last night at the Monett field. Monett lost the first game, 8-1, and the night-cap, 9-4.
