Miracle Recreation plant expansion in Monett continuing (04/14/09)
Construction is underway on the new 60,158-square-foot addition to PlayPower's Miracle Recreation Company plant on County Road in Monett. Storee Construction, of Strafford, is putting up the steel frame structure. According to a news release from PlayPower, the addition will house the Rotomold Center of Excellence, combining PlayPower's 200-job plastic rotational molding in one location. ...

Monett Police arrest burglary suspect (04/14/09)
A Rogers, Ark., man was due to be transferred from the Monett Jail to the Barry County Jail today for two burglaries that took place on Saturday morning. Gregory D. DeShields, 35, was arrested around 4 a.m. at Wellbaum Tire at 115 Central. Rev. Charles Raymond Riggs, 93, of Monett, Missouri, formerly of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away at 9:40 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009. He was born October 15, 1915, in Randolph County, Arkansas, the son of the late Ernest and Eva (Dawson) Riggs. In November of 1934, he was married to Velma Staten and she passed away two months later. ...
