Rex Henderson, 79, of rural Purdy, passed from this life to his eternal reward in Heaven on Sunday evening, Nov. 5, 2023, while at his home with his family by his side.

IMEC celebrates 40 years

Over the past 40 years, Dan and Charlotte Conner have nurtured one of Monett’s locally-owned, familyrun businesses, IMEC, on the north side of town. IMEC, which is short for “industrial machine engineering” is a certified contract manufacturer of precision sheet metal parts, machined parts and assemblies that creates metal components for a variety of uses, from precision machined business card holders, to fuse cabinets for industrial businesses.

A True American, a Veterans Day salute

A while back Viga Hall called Mary Spivy wanting to have a Monett High School 1946 class reunion. Mary said that we can’t have a reunion because of all of the class members that are gone. There are four boys and four girls still living out of a class of 100. I (Jack Davis) told Viga that we could have it in a phone booth!

As I talk to outdoorsmen around the Ozarks it is amazing how ignorant they are about their rights as hunters and fishermen. The greater percentage of those I talk to wrongly believe that agents can come into their homes or buildings whenever they want to.
