Ambulance District seeks payment

The Barry-Lawrence County Ambulance District (BLCAD) Board of directors voted to send a $26,000 debt, owed to them by the now-defunct Bentonview Park Health and Rehabilitation, to collections during their meeting on Wednesday, June 21. Prior to the vote, Paula Flory, office manager for the ambulance district, said that they had been unable to secure payment from Bentonview on the debt.

July 2-8, 1943 • On July 3 the poultry- dressing plant of the Armour Creameries really got into high gear when preparations were made for the dressing of 2,300 chickens. The payroll is better than $725 for the week for 46 employees, the highest since operations started here.

Cash and debit vs. credit cards

Dear Dave, I know you recommend using cash or debit cards instead of credit cards. But can you explain why my husband and I shouldn’t take advantage of credit card points for travel expenses that are required for work but will be reimbursed by the employer? – Cathy Dear Cathy, So, your employer is so poor they require you to advance them for your travel? You do understand if your employer decides not to pay you one month — for whatever reason — that it’s your credit card and your debt, right? Even if this hasn’t happened yet, you’re exposed to the risk.
