Chamber honors outstanding residents

Monett gathered Thursday night to honor the best the community has to offer at its annual Awards Banquet, hosted at the Monett City Park Casino. This year, the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library received the honor of the Pride and Progress award in recognition of both its ongoing effortstoservethecommunity, and it’s achievement last year when it opened its new flagship location near Monett High School.

Paul Daniel Vineyard, Jr.

Paul Daniel Vineyard, Jr., born June 6, 1948, was the first son of Paul and Mary (Tanahill) Vineyard. After graduating from Verona High School he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1969, serving in the Vietnam Conflict on board the USS Constellation.

Dorothea Maxine Elliott

Our sweet Dorothea Maxine Elliott passed away the morning of March 4, 2023 at 102 years old. Her family was by her side. She was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Monett, the daughter of Bertha Ann Roller and Fred R. Miller.
