will host its first meeting of 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the new library in Monett. Doors open at 6 p.m. with food and drink (no alcohol) for all. A tour of the library will take place at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting gets underway at 7 p.m. There is still time to donate to the 2022 fourth quarter winner, the Monett Barry-Lawrence County Library Youth Collection. The donation window continues through Saturday, Jan. 21. Donations will receive a 50 percent matching funds grant for this quarter. For every $100 donated, an additional $50 will be added.

The Barry County Health Department is pleased to announce that 18 of the 235 food establishments in Barry County will receive the 2022 Silver Spoon award. The award is presented to food establishments in Barry County for demonstrating excellence in public food safety.
