Metro Creative Connection After a summer of relaxation, the start of a new school year generates mixed emotions among students. Many children look forward to being back on campus with their friends but may not revel in the idea of waking up early or doing homework each night.

The Monett R-1 School Board approved a plan by Veregy, an energy services company, to renovate the old Monett Middle School’s white building into the district’s new central office during their meeting on Thursday, June 29. The planned renovation would cover about 11,600 square feet and would include a new lobby with a secured vestibule, five restrooms, an updated mechanical room, 21 new special education and district offices, two tech rooms, a new board room and two conference rooms.
