Pierce City Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kelli Alumbaugh presented a floor plan of a preschool addition to Central Elementary School during a meeting of the Pierce City Board of Education on Wednesday, Oct.

Two 2023 Pierce City High School graduates were recently awarded scholarships by the rootEd Alliance. Catherine Canales and Hayden Kramer will both receive up to $12,000 through the scholarships, which can be renewed up to five times or until they graduate, which ever comes first.

Amy Sampson, a Monett High School English teacher, and her students will create exhibits at the Monett Historical Museum, thanks to funds from a $500 Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation (MRTF) grant which Sampson recently won. Sampson said she and her students would use the funds to create three exhibits at the museum.

The Monett R-1 Board of Education approved a work proposal from Veregy, LLC for district improvement projects, including the renovation of the old Middle School Building into the new base Administrative Office, as well as the renovation of the maintenance building at 13th and Cleveland. The scope of the work will include a board room audio/ visual system, stormwater drainage, an entrance facade and signage.
