Resolution requesting USDA grant approved Three Pierce City Board of Aldermen who won or retained their seats in the April 2 election were sworn in during the Board of Aldermen’s meeting on Monday, April 8. Development Center opens new chapters
On April 6, the Barry-Lawrence County held an open house at its new facility at Park Street and Chapell Drive. The celebration marked a new beginning for the 50-year-old organization serving bi-county children with developmental delays and disabilities and vastly expanded physical resources to help children grow and overcome.

April 28-May 4, 1944 • The Monett Junior Chamber of Commerce walked off the highest honors at the state convention in Jefferson City. They tied for first place for outstanding athletic promotion, won first place for the largest delegation, a trophy for miscellaneous activities and second place in youth welfare promotion.
