School board reorganizes

The Monett school board reorganized at its April meeting and reviewed several facilities upgrades. With only the required two candidates filing, the board swore three-term incumbent Ken Gaspar back into office and added Walter Branch to its ranks.

May 5-11, 1944 •TheMayFetepageant which was to have been presented by students of the Monett schools on May 5 was postponed to May 9 because of cool weather. The Victory dance at Swing Inn was not postponed and went ahead from 9 to 11 p.m.

MPD RECIEVES GRANT

What: The Monett Police Department received a grant of $192,991.41 from the MO Department of Public Safety. Purpose: To purchase new radio equipment so that Monett Police can speak over the MOSWIN system.
