Woman doesn’t like the vibe she senses from her husband

DEAR ABBY: My husband is desperate for women’s attention, and I’m sure he’d cheat on me the instant he had the chance. We have been together for 12 years. When we met, he was 24 and I was 31. I realize now that while I have had four long-term relationships and a fair share of sexual partners, my husband has had little sexual experience outside of our relationship.

Regarding the roundabout

Dear editor, As a concerned citizen and taxpayer and a longtime Monettan I feel obligated on behalf of myself, my children and their children to express my thoughts and questions in regard to the roundabout. I remember many years ago in my English class my teacher saying answer these four points in a story or whatever we might be writing: 1) What.

Monett doesn’t need a roundabout

Dear editor, Wholly Moly! I never would have believed in my best imagination that the City Council of Monett would compare the transportation needs of Monett to those of Springfield’s to the extent of Monett needing a roundabout. There’s just something wrong about that!! There is not that much traffic at Central and Broadway, or even in Monett, for that matter.

Anger over roundabout

Dear editor, Who do our councilmen think they are using our taxpayer money for things we never get asked about? Meetings are held during hours no one can attend because most of us are at work. Why aren’t meetings held at time where the public can attend in the evenings – especially for a project that many of us deserve to be heard on? Perhaps they don’t want to listen to us even though we voted for them! So how does it work for the co-called little guy who has been doing business loyally in Monett for 75 years with the business being handed down from generation to generation (Wellbaum’s)? Does the city simply offer a price for the property a first time? If rejected, do they make a second offer? If that is rejected (Can’t blame a business owner for simply not wanting to sell his property, can you?), then does the city, by law, take over as “Imminent domain” and pay whatever the law prescribes and walk all over the original owner? Not sure how that works, but it just doesn’t seem justifiable.

A gift that keeps on giving

Most of our readers are old enough to remember a time when you had to actually go out, in your car, on cold December nights, to crowded stores to shop for your annual Christmas presents. Today, in the age of online ordering and doorstep deliveries, the art of Christmas shopping is lost on younger generations.
