MONETT TIMES OFFICE What: Will change locations When: Next week Where: Resource Center at old Cox Monett Hospital For the first time in nearly 60 years, The Monett Times office will not be located on Broadway. Next week, the office will move the Resource Center, joining Life360 and other community-driven organizations now housed at the former Cox Monett Hospital building.

Those receiving the President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence must have maintained a seventh semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.67 on the 4.0 scale and have scored in the 85th percentile or higher on the math or reading portions of the SAT or ACT.

A severe thunderstorm Sunday afternoon took out power to several houses, as heavy wind, rain and hail pounded power lines and thunder and lightning boomed over town. Monett Utilities Superintendent Skip Schaller said three different outages were reported from 11:30 a.m.

BARRY COUNTY YOUTH CAMP What: Offers disadvantaged children ages 7-10 the opportunity to attend a free four-day summer camp at Roaring River State Park. When: May 31 through June 3 Organizers of the 57th annual Barry County Youth Camp, taking place at Camp Smokey at Roaring River State Park, have released the bus schedule to pick campers up in Monett, Purdy and Cassville.

Due to ongoing construction during the renovation of the old First National Bank of Monett, there will be road closure from Broadway and Fourth streets north to the alley behind the bank until further notice.
