Home News Lemonade proceeds go to the dogs Lemonade proceeds go to the dogsMay 7, 2024News When a child decides to set up a lemonade stand to make a bit of extra cash, that cash usually is wanted to get a toy, clothes, to use on a trip or any number of things, but normally something for themselves. That is not the case for eight-year-old Londyn Kauffman, of Monett. London, who has a big heart for animals, decided to give all of her donations towards the Monett dog pound. With the help of her friend, ten-year-old Kinleigh Johnson, the pair served the refreshing drink and cookies from 1 p.m. until bedtime. Donations came from local traffic, friends and family, and from those that saw it on social media. They raised a total of $1,070 for the pound and with the help of the Monett Dog Catcher Karen Griggs, went on a shopping spree on Amazon to purchase what is needed. London is the daughter of Jamie and Bob Kauffman. London is planning to do another event in the future with the donations going towards the Haven of the Ozark’s in Exeter.
