A favorite holiday for children – as well as many grown-ups – is Valentine’s Day on Feb. 14. In 1963 the event was the occasion for various colorful parties, with all rooms in the Monett Elementary system hosting Valentine exchanges and refreshments. Room mothers served as hostesses in each class.
