Since his July 2020 “official retirement,” this wordsmith has penned two fiction novels, “Ragamuffin,” which tells of a young girl impacted by her family’s unwilling participation in a marijuana growing operation in the Devil’s Frying Pan, located in southwest Missouri; and “Fire Eats Its Children,” which centers around an agricultural area where a massive meth-making operation takes place in a small community in southwest Missouri.
