Tennis team falls to New Covenant
The Monett boys tennis team (6-2) lost only its second dual of the season this week, falling to New Covenant on Tuesday, 6-3. “We played really well and we were right there, but it was just not our night to win,” said Jason Smith, Monett tennis coach. “All of our doubles teams played well, and I saw a lot of good things. Jackson Young lost a tough singles match in a tiebreaker. Ethan Kutz’s singles match went back and forth, but in the end, he could not pull off the victory. Elijah Ridenour was scrambling all over the court and was pretty evenly matched with his opponent, but to continue the theme, we just could not come out on top. Overall, I am very pleased with how hard we played.” Full results include:

2: Jackson Young loses 8-9 (4-7) to Aidan Henderson
