Nine $500 classroom grants presented in southwest Missouri

Local retired teachers association assists area teachers

Several area teachers recently received $500 classroom grants from the Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation.

Recipients in Greenfield, Marionville, Aurora, Mt. Vernon, Pierce City, Neosho and McDonald County were awarded the grants which can be used to purchase books, iPads, reading and math aides, new technology items, science project kits and more.

This year, the Foundation awarded another 126 classroom teachers with $500 grants to assist them with funds for classroom projects.
