Bishop Rice concludes two-year process with liturgy

A total of 28 teens at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City were confirmed by Bishop Edward Rice from the Springfield-Cape Giradeau Diocese during the 4 p.m. liturgy on Feb. 9, following a day of conversations and a short retreat.

Bishop Rice challenged the teens to stay physically fit, telling them he personally runs five miles a day and used his example to encourage young people.
