Tuesday, December 25, 2018
The 100-Plus Women Who Care Chapter in Monett has donated $5,000 to Camp Barnabas through the Monett Area Community Foundation. Chapter organizer Tammy Pyle explained that funds presented by the foundation are considered tax free income. Members who meet quarterly selected Camp Barnabas as the agency they wanted to help. Weathermon said funds will be used as scholarships to attend camp. Since May, the chapter has collected $14,850 for local charities. Fifty more committed women are sought to join the effort. The next chapter meeting will be on Feb. 7, and generally on the first Thursdays, at the Monett Museum. Murray Bishoff/times-news@monett-times.com
