The Monett City Council will meet at 9:30 a.m. today at Monett City Hall.
A Celebrate Monett commemoration of the city and school district’s participation in the Healthy Schools/Healthy Communities grant will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23 at the Jerry D. Hall Memorial Pavilion in the Glen nd Sharon Garrett Park on Front Street. A light breakfast will be provided. Activities will include a scavenger hunt, Zumba on the grass and goody bags for the first 100 visitors.
The Monett Aquatic Center at the Monett Area YMCA is open from 1 to 6:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, 1 to 8 p.m. on Saturday ant 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Those buying admission can use the Y’s indoor facilities until the Y closes at 10 p.m. Pool admission is $6, or $20 for a family of two adults and up to four children.
The Bennett and Fly families reunion will be held Sunday, June 24, at the Monett Senior Center, 405 Dairy St. A basket dinner will begin around 12:45 p.m. There will be a business meeting and music by family members in the afternoon. All families and friends are invited.
The Verona R-7 Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. June 21 in the vo-ag room at Verona High School.
Arnhart Baptist Church, east of Purdy, will host a picnic and fireworks display at 7 p.m. on June 24.
The Purdy R-2 Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. on June 25 at the administrative office.
Dedication of a new mural in Aurora will be held at 4:30 p.m. on June 21 at 409 W. Locust, south of the MFA Mill.
The Aurora Chamber of Commerce will host its Light The Night summer celebration from 3 to 10 p.m. today, June 16 at Baldwin Park. Live music, games, concessions and evening fireworks are planned.
The Pierce City municipal swimming pool is open noon to 5 p.m. daily. Admission is $3 per person, or $75 for a season-long individual pass or $140 for a family pass. Aerobics are offered 5:15 to 6 p.m. on Mondays for $3. An adult-only swim is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $2 per person.
The American Job Center, 100 S. Maple in Monett, will offer free workshops in June. A session on “Skills to Pay the Bills” is offered from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. p.m. on June 20. A workshop on interviewing and resume skills is offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on June 22. WorkKeys testing’s is offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 29. “Shipwrecked — Rescued by Jesus,” is the theme of VBS from July 16-20 to be held at Waldensian Presbyterian Church from 9-noon. Children ages four through 6th grade are welcome. For more information call 235-3129.
First Baptist Church in Monett will host Vacation Bible School day camp from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 at the church on South Highway 37.
The Ozark Country Quilters will meet at 9:30 a.m. on June 21 for a workshop at the Old Fields Photo Archive on Highway 248 in Cassville.
The Pierce City Senior Center, 104 N. Locust, will host a dance with the Fun Timers Band from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on June 28. Admission is $4. Finger food is welcome.
The Monett Senior Center will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at the Monett City Park Casino, featuring Evelyn Lock and the Outriders Band. August and September dances will be held on the second Mondays of the month.

The Monett Senior Center, 405 Dairy St., will offer three programs to help seniors on Wednesdays, each starting on June 27. Walk With Ease, a group-based and self directed program, will be offered through Aug. 1 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Active Living Every Day, a behavior change program helping to overcome barriers to physical activity, will be offered 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. through Sept. 19. An exercise program through the Arthritis Foundation will be offered 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. through Aug. 1. For additional information, call 235-3285.
