Bike wreck on Hwy. 37 injures Mt. Vernon man

46-year-old airlifted from scene just north of Cassville

A Mt. Vernon man was seriously injured Sunday in a wreck at about 4 p.m. on Highway 37 at Business 37, a mile-and-a-half north of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Paul Heisner, 46, of Mt. Vernon, was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle northbound when a 1997 Ford Taurus being driven by Anthony Test, 20, of Cassville, failed to yield and caused him to hit the Taurus on its passenger side.

Heisner, who was ejected from the vehicle, was airlifted to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. Test was not injured.

Both were wearing safety devices. The Honda was totaled, and the Taurus suffered extensive damage.
